KEY FACTS
This Honda NSX Type R is a vibrant example of the extremely rare and iconic 1990s Japanese sports car, offered with low mileage from new and benefitting from an extensive restoration.
It is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.0-litre DOHC V6 with VTEC, delivering around 274PS to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
This original Japan-delivered model was first registered in February 1993, and is now located in Denmark, where it has been with the seller for four years.
Equipment
The NSX Type R was the genesis point of the now iconic ‘Type R’ nameplate, and was a lightweight and focused variant of the acclaimed sports car, which featured a 120kg weight-saving over the standard model courtesy of the removal of the sound deadening material, traction control, motorised leather seats, and the original wheels.
In place of these items, lightweight carbon-kevlar Recaro bucket seats were fitted, alongside Enkei forged alloy wheels, and a titanium gear knob, though the electric windows, and forward and back seat controls were retained.
This example is finished in the vibrant shade of Formula Red with a contrasting gloss-black roof, over a black Alcantara-trimmed cabin, featuring contrasting red stitching, red suede cloth-trimmed Recaro bucket seats, and satin-grey trim inlays.
Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a black leather-trimmed Momo steering wheel, and automatic air conditioning.
Modifications
The most recent maintenance was performed in December 2020 by Plans Performance UK at around 50,000 Kms, which consisted of a full check-over, a scheduled service, including an engine oil and filter change, the air conditioning compressor replaced, and new mirror glass fitted.
